Virtual Client Technology (VCT) is a powerful technology used to create user interfaces for managing programs in a computer, over a network or the Internet. The term virtual client arises from the high degree of automation of program and online operations achievable with a Virtual Client. A Virtual Client looks and operates sometimes like an Internet browser since it has all of the browser functionlity but in addition it has a large range of specific functionality which browsers do not have. Virutal Clients can be multi-configurable and transform into different formats, colours and basic shapes according to the specific application. A Virtual Client in one computer can call up another Virtual Client in another computer and carry out a series of operations subject to owner authorization.
Navatec Voyager - World's First Virtual Client
The first Virtual Client, the Navatec Voyager, was built by Navatec.Com using SEEL components in 2000. The image on the left is an example of an eary version. In 2005, Navatec Voyager was separated out as a separate unit to evaluate, test and further develop the product under an agreement licensing the use of SEEL components, future upgrades and innovations.
Some of the current Navatec Voyager embedded capabilities include VoIP, text messaging and management capabilities for online bar code transactions, document flow, consignments, process control and traceability management.
Online, offline, client-end, server-end
One of the innovative aspects of the original Navatec Voyager was that the programs used could run online on the remote server or run offline at the client-end like Windows® software. This capability was originally unique to VCT but other developers are moving in that direction. SEEL is completing the evaluation of some 5 years testing of these systems to decide which commercial applications should be released. These would be marketed through NavatecVoyager.Com.
The Real Net
Navatec Voyager can provide remote control of computers located anywhere through the use of proprietary protocols which are delivered through a secure Internet segment known as the Real Net managed by Navatec.Com. An important characteristic of the Real Net is that it is spam free and, after 5 years testing, virus free. This is because the protocols for communications are all embedded within the Virtual Clients, Virtual Clients are all distinct and recognizeable and registered to single users. If a VC is copied the Real Net security system, Navatrac, detects this and eventually incapacitates the copy rendering it completely useless.
